Academic Programme
The Semester-wise Four-Year B.A./B.Sc. Honours and Honours with Research Courses of Studies, introduced under the Curriculum and Credit Framework (CCF), 2022 of the University of Calcutta, have been implemented for students whose admission commenced from the 2023–24 academic session onwards. This programme follows the principles of NEP 2020, offering an eight-semester structure with a flexible multiple exit option—Certificate after Semester II, Diploma after Semester IV, and Bachelor’s Degree after Semester VI—while successful completion of all eight semesters leads to the award of Honours or Honours with Research. The curriculum integrates discipline-specific core courses, minor courses, interdisciplinary courses, skill enhancement courses, ability enhancement courses, value-added courses, internships, and research components, ensuring holistic academic development. The Honours with Research track in the fourth year places special emphasis on research methodology, dissertation/project work, and research internship, thereby preparing students for higher studies and research-oriented careers.
