History Facility
- Knowledge about the discipline is imparted through traditional ‘chalk and talk’ lectures and also with the help of advanced technological audio-visual aids, organization of educational and field trips to museums, archives and heritage sites.
- The students also gain knowledge through reference books related to the discipline which are prescribed by the department and kept at the central library of the college. Notes, reference material and discipline related virtual links are regularly shared with the students through email and WhatsApp groups.
- Online classes are taken whenever necessary through Google Meet. Students’ progress and development in academics, participation in co-curricular activities in and outside the college and career counselling is constantly monitored through the mentor-mentee programme. This mentoring also continues even after the students leave the college for higher studies.
- The department also organizes internship programmes with different institutions to help students hone their skills in research and acquire skills of employability in the job market.
- Activities like the study and field trips, celebration of teacher’s day, freshers welcome and farewell programme strength bonds between the teachers and the students and also develop fellow feelings and camaraderie among students.
- Parents Teachers meeting is organized by the department in every academic year to discuss about the students and to take feedback for improvement.
- As a best practise of the department, the teachers of the department give a prize to the student who scores the highest SGPA in the final semester examination.
