Department of Political Science
The Department of Political Science was established in 2015, coinciding with the inception of the College. Since its foundation, the Department has been committed to advancing the knowledge base through a robust framework of teaching, learning, and research. Our mission extends beyond academics—we strive to instil in students a deep sense of social responsibility and the values of good citizenship. The Department aims to nurture independent thinking and empower young women to become responsible citizens who can contribute meaningfully to the process of nation-building. In alignment with this mission, we offer both Honours and General Courses in Political Science, designed to develop students’ intellectual and analytical capabilities. In addition to the curriculum, we actively encourage student participation in cultural programmes, debates, discussions, and seminars to broaden their perspectives and enhance their creativity. The Department provides access to library resources and organizes interactive classes and regular tutorials to foster a dynamic learning environment.
Furthermore, the Department conducts Parent-Teacher Meetings and mentor-mentee sessions to support the overall development of each student. These initiatives help us build a strong support system, ensuring personalized academic and emotional guidance. Our focus remains not only on delivering formal education but also on contributing to the holistic development and empowerment of our girl students, preparing them to face the world with confidence, competence, and a sense of purpose.
